Some useful information


Please note that from September 16, 2024, rabies titers are required for the export of pets from Russia and Belarus to the EU countries

From September 16, 2024, for commercial and non-commercial relocation of dogs and cats from the territory of Russia and Belarus to the territory of the EU (including transit), a test for rabies will be required.

Requirements for rabies testing:

👉 the sample for analysis should be taken 30 days after rabies vaccination and at least three months before the issuance of the veterinary certificate and entry into the EU;

👉 the test should be done in a certified laboratory.

What documents must a pet have to travel to EU countries?

To travel, the pet must have the following documents:

👉 Passport (with all necessary vaccinations and marks)

👉 Veterinary certificate (for pets who do not have a European passport)

👉 From September 16, 2024, rabies titers made in an accredited laboratory



To travel on a commercial rout you also need: invoices, contract, export declaration, transit declaration, import declaration, CHAD certificate, etc.

At what age can a pet travel and how to calculate the timing of vaccinations and tests

To travel, your pet must:

👉 be microchipped before rabies vaccination;

👉 at the age of 12 weeks + 1 day, get a rabies vaccination (be sure to be microchipped before vaccination);

👉 in addition to rabies, vaccinations against infections must be done;

👉 From September 16, 2024, it is necessarily to have rabies titers done in an accredited laboratory no earlier than 30 days after rabies vaccination. The pet can travel to the EU 90 days after taking a blood test for titers
